Harbour Pixel
About us
Harbour Pixel is a small, independent guide to retro and pixel games you can play free in a web browser. We play every game properly, write in plain English and keep the site free of adverts and trackers.
01What we do
We pick a short list of retro and pixel games you can play free in a web browser and explain them for players in the UK: what you actually do, who each game suits, how long a sensible session lasts, whether there are adverts or accounts, and where to find the official version.
We look for games that load in seconds, work without downloads and come from the people who made them. Many are older than some of our readers, and still brilliant.
02Why the name
A harbour is where small boats come in at night, one light at a time. Small pixel games feel the same to us: each one a little lit window on the internet, still glowing years after it was made. We keep a berth for ten of the best.
03What we are not
We are not a game portal. We do not host or copy any game, and we do not embed games in our pages. Every review sends you to the official site, which is the safest place to play.
04How we stay independent
Nobody pays for a review, a score or a place on our list, and we do not use affiliate links. Running costs are covered by the operator named below.
05Who writes the reviews
The Harbour Pixel desk is a small group of long-time players, including parents and teachers. Each review is played on a computer and a phone, checked by a second person and dated.
